Surrogate motherhood

Eastern Europe has proven to be the last bastion of hope for couples from the west that want to have children, but are not able to do so the natural way. In Ukraine extra-corporal insemination services (ECI or test-tube conception) and surrogate motherhood are cheaper then in other countries of the European Union and in the U.S. and even cover flights and overhead. Moreover, the surrogate motherhood business in Ukraine is absolutely legal. (Surrogate motherhood)

22 centres of reproductive medicine are currently operating in Kyiv, Kharkov, Donetsk, Lviv, Ivano-Frankovsk, Chernovtsy, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Simferopol, and Zaporozhe. Last year, 32 babies were born in these centres by surrogate mothers, 27 of which were for Ukrainian families and five for foreigners, according to an anonymous survey conducted in hospitals by the Ukrainian Association of Reproductive Medicine (UARM). Survey authors suspect that the real figures may be 20-30 % higher. Ukraine is a very attractive place for foreigners seeking the services of surrogate mothers (surrogate motherhood), says UARM Vice President Valery Zukin. “However, I am against this. We will never be able to compete with international centres of human reproduction in India, Brazil and California. Foreigners do not come to Ukraine because the quality of services is higher, but because the services of surrogate motherhood are cheaper. I am certain this will tarnish Ukraine’s image,” Zukin noted.(Surrogate motherhood)

INFORMATIONE of surrogate motherhood:

Surrogate motherhood is a method of human reproduction, whereby a women volunteers to become pregnant for the purpose of gestating and giving birth to a child that is then handed over to be raised by its genetic parents.(Surrogate motherhood)

Doctors take the ovule and sperm from the genetic parents, produce insemination and place it in a thermostat, where the ovule begins to split apart. If an embryo develops normally, after 3-5 days it is placed into the womb of the surrogate mother, who then gestates and gives birth to a genetically strange child.(Surrogate motherhood)
